Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect to join our team and play a key role in shaping the architecture and design of our data infrastructure. The Data Architect will be responsible for developing and implementing scalable, flexible, and efficient data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and support our business objectives. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of data architecture solutions, including data modeling, database design, and data integration strategies.
- Define and maintain data standards, policies, and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data architecture solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support data architecture goals, considering factors such as performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and optimize data storage and retrieval processes to maximize efficiency and minimize latency.
- Implement data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, mentoring junior members and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data architecture and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a data architecture role, with a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions in complex environments.
- Proficiency in data modeling techniques and tools, with experience in relational, dimensional, and NoSQL database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data security, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically about complex data challenges.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a global and multicultural environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with the analytics landscape in both the United States and Africa would be advantageous.
